Where American Beekeeping began

Historical information available indicates that the first colonies of American Honey Bees were shipped from England and landed in the Colony of Yorktown Virginia in the Spring of 1622.

The Virginia Honey Bee population expanded to the rest of the colonies, with human-assisted migration, eventually crossing the Mississippi River and into the Western Frontier.

This period in American history, during the 17th and 18th centuries, was also a time of great European turmoil. Fortunately for the small American Honey Bee population, many Europeans fleeing wars, poverty, land laws or religious persecution brought extensive beekeeping skills to the United States during these first two American centuries.

Virginia Bee Company is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We specialize in Local Virginia Honey.

We will soon be adding a Queen Ann's line of cosmetic products.

Our History

Virginia Bee Company began it's operation in 2010 as a way to supply our friends and neighbors with local Virginia Honey.

Our glass jars manufactured in Italy. They are then customized with our signature Bee and Card. 

In 2016 Queen Ann's Honey was named one of the best new food products in Virginia.
